Sudan Memberships

Sudan has a distinct relationship with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), which provides it with extensive technical assistance under the country's integrated program to promote the country's industrial performance. Kingdom is active in Khartoum, Port Sudan, Kassala, Al-Jazeera, North and South Kordofan and Darfur.


UNIDO's “programs are designed to; reduce poverty, support the private sector, strengthen the industrial sectors, build industrial support services for the production of leather, vegetable oil, nutrition, agricultural equipment, fertilizers and the garment industry. a considerable portfolio of Technical Cooperation (TC) activities in Sudan."

Sudan is part of the African Union when it joined the African Union on May 25, 1963, when the Pan-African Corps was created. Formerly known as the Organization of African Unity, the OAU held a forum that allowed all Member States to adopt coordinated positions on matters of common interest to the continent and effectively defend the interests of Africa. As an OAU Coordinating Committee for the Liberation of Africa, the continent worked to achieve its sovereignty and with a determined voice to establish an international consensus in support of liberation and the struggle against apartheid became an organization that defended the principles of unity African. In July 1999, the OAU moved to the African Union with the Assembly deciding to convene an extraordinary session to accelerate the process of economic and political integration in Africa.


Thus, the vision of the African Union is to promote "An integrated, prosperous and peaceful Africa, driven by its own citizens and representing a dynamic force in the global arena".

Great Arab Free Trade Area (GAFTA)

Sudan is a member of GAFTA, so it has the advantage of considering a gradual application of zero tariffs on imports to achieve full exemption by the year 2010.


Arab Organization for Industrial Development and Mining (AOIDM)

This is one of the organizations of the Arab League.

Sudan is a member of it and offers Sudan technical assistance in the field of industrial development.


Inter-Arab Investment Guarantee Corporation (IAIGC) (Kuwait)

Sudan Trade Point is a trade facilitation center that uses Information & Communication Technology (ICT) to serve Sudanese foreign traders, entrepreneurs and investors, receiving all services and information related to domestic and international trade. Sudan Trade Point aims to encourage, promote and improve Sudan's foreign trade and performance in international markets with specific emphasis on Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). Sudan Trading Point creates the business opportunities to present and market your goods and services and products, and find new markets and partners around the world, and eliminate procedures and reduce costs. This is the WTPF network, which has connected with more than (130) commercial points in more than (90) countries around the world, to provide and facilitate commercial information, which plays an important and essential role in the international commercial transaction. The Common Market for East and Merist Africa (COMESA) was formed in December 1994 to replace the former Preferential Trade Area (PTA) of the early 1980s in East Africa and Merud. COMESA is Africa's largest economic community, with a total population of around 430 million and a combined GDP estimated at US$447 billion. COMESA's main objectives are to eliminate structural and institutional weaknesses in Member States and promote political stability and sustained economic development.
